7:10pm, Domodedovo International Airport
And... I'm... back.
Couldn't see a thing till almost just before the wheels touched tarmac. On the whole, the flight was a masterpiece of precision moves and glassy ride. I cranked up the ol' iPod and gazed out at the setting sun. Life was good. Like I said, I do loves that 767.
Back here in Moscow it's just a few degrees above freezing and snow is everywhere.
So coming out of the nothing-to-declare Green Channel, you're assaulted by guys wanting to cab you in to Moscow. My driver picked me up but I still had to run the gauntlet.
Not gonna lie to you, it's kind of a weird relief to be back. A little unreal. But a relief. Modern day jet travel and the disorientation of being in sunny California one moment then snowy Moscow the next -- a little unreal.
And I'm back.
